Jason

Born and bred in Leicestershire Jason has had farming in his blood from an early age, spending all his free time at local farms.  He has worked in the butchery trade since leaving school.  After leaving school he studied Butchery at College part time for two years, whilst also working at Joseph Morris Butchers.

In 2002 Jason started work independently, opening up his first Organic Butchers Shop at Elmhurst Organic Farm in Withybrook, Warwickshire.  Jason's Organic Butchers opened in Cotesbach in October 2009, after much hard work from family and friends converting the old kennels into the shop it is today.

Since then business has been thriving, with many of Jason's old customers remaining loyal and new customers visiting every week.  Jason's down to earth, practical and friendly approach is both refreshing and inspiring in an industry that requires commitment, hard work and passion!

‘Is the meat locally sourced?’ is a common question and major concern of many customers passing though Jason’s door.  Jason is proud to state that he owns and farms all his own sheep, mutton, beef and pork either across the road from his shop on Cotesbach Hall grounds, or his own land in Broughton Astley – fresh meat doesn’t come any nearer!

In March 2023 Jason had to relinquish his Organic status after his local slaughterhouse chose not to renew their organic certification.  Jason continues to farm, feed and care for my livestock as he has for the past 30 years.  He farms the old fashioned way, without pesticides, or fertilisers used on his land.  His livestock are allowed to roam, grass fed during the Summer and supplemented with hay and silage during the Winter months.

Jason prides himself on offering a first class service to all that walk through his door and looks forward to seeing you soon!
